Etsy Store is now Open …

Yes, it’s true, my Etsy store is now open. Click here if you’d like to take a look. Any feedback you can give would be very much appreciated, given that I’m a complete novice at this sort of thing. I’ll see if I can put a link to it here on my blog.

At the moment, I’m only selling cards but these are cards with a difference. Each card is unique and is an original watercolour painting. As well as some recent paintings, I’ve also turned some old favourites in to cards:

Feeling Festive ?!!

No, me neither, not yet anyway. It’s way too soon to be thinking about Christmas and all of the fun and frolics that go with it. Despite it still being early October, the shops are starting to fill up with Christmas related goods. In the spirit of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them,’ I painted some Christmas cards today. I tried a few different designs but the tree was definitely my favourite. I decided to paint it in 4 different colour schemes:

These will be for sale from my Etsy shop, hopefully from next week! 🎨

A love of ‘Colouring In’ …

Sine childhood, I have loved the therapeutic and relaxing nature of ‘colouring in’. Today, I went back to my roots! I’m in the process of setting up a small shop on ‘Etsy’ and have been making, painting and photographing original watercolours on cards which can then subsequently be framed.

Today I used a favourite colour scheme: sepia with a red, a green, a yellow and a blue added. I also used stamps with gold (sepia-ish?!) ink, I then spent quite some time using watercolour paints to ‘colour in’ each image. I’m really pleased with the result – when I asked my 10 year old what he thought, he began by saying they were ‘cool’, he then added ‘if I were a grown-up and a woman, I’d buy them!’ I think that’s a positive endorsement …

Here are photos of each design:

I hope to have my Etsy shop up and running by early next week, I’ll be posting on here once it is open.

I must just finish by thanking Alana over at The Little Leaf for all her advice and help. Be sure to check out her blog as well as her Etsy shop.

Butterfly Bonanza …

I treated myself to a butterfly punch stamp today and using some lovely card I made some almost 3D butterfly cards:

As well as having interesting designs on one side, the card I used is also coloured on the reverse, making the wings look lovely regardless of whether they are being looked at from above or underneath.

I have a large (well, large for me!) festival/craft fair coming up in September, hopefully, a range of these cards will go down a treat alongside some of my paintings and prints.
