We’ve been waiting for the snow to come. All the forecasts tell us that it’ll be here in the south west of the UK on friday. Everywhere looks different shades of greys, blues and purples – occasionally when the sun manages to make a slight appearance we see some hints of yellow-orange. It’s these shades which inspired my painting today:

Count your blessings! We’ve got more than enough here in Ottawa, Canada. We’re crossing our fingers that it gets warmer sooner. I guess we always want what we can’t have… Gorgeous painting by the way. I love the colors.

You’re right, the grass is always greener (or snowier) on the other side. At least here if we get snow it doesn’t usually last very long. We can have some fun sledging for a couple of days and then things can get back to normal. Thanks for your kind comment about my painting, I’m glad you liked it
It is a lovely painting Rachael! I like the way the flickers in the snow are reflected in those tiny shapes among the branches. Enjoy that snow!
Thank you – it didn’t turn out quite the way I expected it to but I’m really happy with the result. The snow has been lovely, hope all’s well with you Philippa.
flickers in the ground, if not the snow!
